St.Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, a non-profit facility sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton, is committed to maximizing the quality of human life by providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation and related programs to meet the healthcare needs of our communities.

History Of St Lawrence Rehabilitation Ctr
St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, a 129-bed, not-for-profit, physical rehabilitation hospital in Lawrenceville, NJ, celebrated its 30th birthday on April 26, 2001. The center received its first patient on April 26, 1971 and has since treated approximately 50,000 in-and-out patients. The facility was dedicated by the Most Reverend George W. Ahr, the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton, on May 22, 1971. It was originally named Morris Hall Health and Rehabilitation Center, and had a licensed capacity for 203 beds; 50 for rehabilitation and 153 for skilled nursing services.
As the demand for rehabilitation services increased, the center converted the beds and currently has 56 rehabilitation beds and 73 long-term care beds. In 1993, under the leadership of Bishop John C. Reiss, construction began on a five-year renovation project and the new facility was dedicated in the spring of 1998 by Bishop John Smith. The center has a new state-of-the-art Outpatient Health Center, which includes private examination and treatment rooms, lounge and splinting area, a spacious gym and on-site apartment for Activities of Daily Living.
St. Lawrence offers a wide range of rehabilitation services including physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, therapeutic recreation, vocational counseling, and social and psychological services. There are also highly regarded programs in Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Vision Rehabilitation, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Driving Therapy, and Dysphagia Therapy. A Wheelchair Seating Clinic and chronic pain management services are also provided.
Patients and their families have the benefit of a team approach to rehabilitation. They meet with the physiatrist, rehabilitation nurse, physical, occupational and speech therapists, therapeutic recreation specialist, program manager and psychologist. This highly skilled team meets among themselves and with the patient and families to maximize the treatment. Spiritual care is also available for patients and their families.
